First info concerning Daniele Silvestri!

Hello PanoPeople!

We're happy to notice that the announcement of our 2009 gigs has attracted huge interest.
Obviously, first of all concerning the two concerts of Daniele Silvestri, next February.

It is clear that it's gonna be a huge event for us: one of the most known and appreciated Italian singers playing in such a small and cosy venue!
And there's probably not gonna be enough space for everybody... so, be ready to get your tickets!

How?
Well, first of all the only ones to have priority will be Panoplie members and supporters.
Then, to be fair with you all, there's gonna be only one way.
Online pre-sales will be announced on here: up to you to be quick enough and get your tickets!!!

One first hint?
Pre-sales will start in the next couple of weeks...

So... stay tuned!!!

Paolo Benvegnù "Cerchi nell'acqua" clip

Hello PanoPeople!

Some of you probably know Perturbazione, the great band from Torino.
We made them play twice in Luxembourg a couple of years ago, also for the release party of our first compilation, Tales from my Pocket.

Well, they're strictly linked to our future guest, Paolo Benvegnù.
Not only because Paolo has produced Canzoni allo specchio, Perturbazione's penultimate record, but also because Tommaso Cerasuolo, the singer of Perturbazione, as worked with Paolo as video-maker.

Hereafter a wonderful clip Tommaso made for Paolo's Cerchi nell'acqua, in 2005.
Check it out!!!

Paolo Benvegnù bio

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Paolo Benvegnù

After being the fromtman of seminal indie-band Scisma, and two solo records like Piccoli Fragilissimi Film and Le Labbra, Paolo Benvegnù is considered one of the best and most original Italian artists. With an incredible band and an emotionally driven show Paolo Benvegnù will be touring Europe in december.

Paolo Benvegnù is the founder, singer and guitar player of seminal Italian indie-rock band Scisma, who released 3 albums on Parlophone-EMI.
Active between 1996 and 2000, Scisma had from the start a very international approach, with shows in festivals like Europe connection and Le primtemps de Bourges.
They also had their last record Armstrong released in France and Benelux and played extensively Italy and Europe with hundreds of gigs.
After Scisma split up Paolo Benvegnù, starts collaborating with important names of the Italian music scene, like Marco Parente, David Riondino and Stefano Bollani.
After building his own recording studio in Florence, Paolo Benvegnù starts working as artistic producer on the records of various artists like Marti, Perturbazione, Terje Nordgarden and Brychan.
His song E' solo un sogno is included in 2003 top selling album by Italian pop singer Irene Grandi.
In the same period Benvegnù signs a record deal with Santeria/Stoutmusic and releases his first solo album Piccoli Fragilissimi Film in 2004.
The record immediately becomes a "classic" for the Italian indie scene, and gets voted as on of the best records in the end of the year poll by all music magazines.
The release is followed by a 150 date Italian tour that receives the prize of "2004 Best Tour" at MEI.
Between 2006 and 2007 is busy playing live and producing/performing in the record Cime Domestiche (RadioFandango): a very succesful reworking of folk songs of the Trentino area with the company of Petra Magoni e Ares Tavolazzi.
In october 2007 Paolo Benvegnù releases the 14-19 EP on his own brand-new record label La Pioggia Dischi, the record is incredibly well received and creates great expectations for his new album Le Labbra, released in february 2008.
Le Labbra (trad: The lips) deals with love in such a deep, gut-twisting honesty and passion, that was never put on a record in such a way before.
It is welcomed as one of the best Italian record in years and shortly followed by a long and very successful tour that touched with incendiary shows the best Italian venues and festivals like Arezzo Wave, Ypsig Rock (with dEUS), V-Day, and MIAMI.

The band

Paolo Benvegnù: lead vocals and guitars
Andrea Franchi: drums and keyboards
Luca Baldini: bass and keyboards
Igor Cardeti: guitars
Guglielmo Ridolfo Gagliano: guitars, cello and piano

Last news before summer break! 8)

Hello PanoPeople!

How is your summer going?

Some of you may be on holidays... some already came back, some still have to leave...

We are proud to say that even summertime doesn’t stop our activities: we can already announce the first two events of a new season which will bring you more and bigger surprises...

On November 13th, we will bring to d:qliq Musetta, duo from Milano which combines refined jazz melodies with modern electronic sounds and original esthetics, also through video-projections interacting with music.

On December 12th, we will welcome at d:qliq Anti-gone, project of Neapolitan musician Barbara de Dominicis (also including Marco Messina, ex 99 Posse), in which avant-folk, pop and electronics find a perfect balance, continuously melting in a mix of great fascination and conceptual elegance, around Greek mythology.

Two fascinating nights, which will open another great season of concerts...
Stay tuned, because we are working on BIG events!!!

For the moment, let us wish you a wonderful summer, full of sunshine and, obviously... music!!!

Season's end

Hello PanoPeople!

As you know, Panoplie Italian Nights 2 were the last event of our season.
It has been another great year of music, from Afterhours' three consecutive gigs on September 2007 to the second edition of our festival.
Lots of events, different styles, different atmospheres, but always great moments of music, with a wonderful response of the public.
We are happy to see that Panoplie, its events, its releases, have attracted an increasing interest both of musicians and listeners, particularly becoming a sort of bridge towards Europe for the Italian indie scene.

Now, a little summer break, but don't be afraid: we'll be back on September!
We are already working on the next season, and there are great surprises for you...
Before the end of the year, more events (wait for a couple of big names...), more releases (another compilation? only one?)...
stay tuned!!!

Anyway, check this site out also during summertime, for a couple of good reasons...
First, it'd be the right period for us to work on pictures and videos of past events, and post some on here.
Second, because we could announce autumn events soon, and start pre-sales... be careful, if you don't want to miss something big!

We wish to thank again everybody for this great year: the artists, the public, d:qliq crew, Sentieri Sonori @ Radio Ara...

Massimo Giangrande & Athebustop

Panoplie asbl is proud to present you two great talents of Italian songwriting: Massimo Giangrande and Athebustop, great musicians and wonderful persons.

We discovered Claudio Donzelli aka Athebustop on June 2007, when he was the opening act of Panoplie Italian Nights, and we all fell in love with his enchanting melodies.
To see it by yourself, this is Peter Pan from that night:

He then came back on August playing Radiohead's songs at Maghy Dancefloor's Bday Tribute, and his song A Wish appears on our compilation Tales from my Pocket. As time goes by, his link to Luxembourg seems to get stronger...
This time, he will open the night with a set including quite a few new songs.

Then, we will have the pleasure of welcoming Massimo Giangrande.
After already quite a long career, which saw him being leader of Punch & Judy but also collaborating with lots of different artists (Roberto Angelini, Pino Marino, Lara Martelli...) and being part of Collettivo Angelo Mai, Massimo has recently published his firts solo cd Apnea.
This is the first clip from the cd, Come il cuore leggero:

Important to say, Massimo Giangrande (guitar & vocals) will be at d:qliq with a great band: Rodrigo D'Erasmo on violin, Gabriele Lazzarotti on bass, Fabio Rondanini on drums and Daniele "IlMafio" Tortora on sound.

What to say more?
