Paolo Benvegnù

After being the fromtman of seminal indie-band Scisma, and two solo records like Piccoli Fragilissimi Film and Le Labbra, Paolo Benvegnù is considered one of the best and most original Italian artists. With an incredible band and an emotionally driven show Paolo Benvegnù will be touring Europe in december.

Paolo Benvegnù is the founder, singer and guitar player of seminal Italian indie-rock band Scisma, who released 3 albums on Parlophone-EMI.
Active between 1996 and 2000, Scisma had from the start a very international approach, with shows in festivals like Europe connection and Le primtemps de Bourges.
They also had their last record Armstrong released in France and Benelux and played extensively Italy and Europe with hundreds of gigs.
After Scisma split up Paolo Benvegnù, starts collaborating with important names of the Italian music scene, like Marco Parente, David Riondino and Stefano Bollani.
After building his own recording studio in Florence, Paolo Benvegnù starts working as artistic producer on the records of various artists like Marti, Perturbazione, Terje Nordgarden and Brychan.
His song E' solo un sogno is included in 2003 top selling album by Italian pop singer Irene Grandi.
In the same period Benvegnù signs a record deal with Santeria/Stoutmusic and releases his first solo album Piccoli Fragilissimi Film in 2004.
The record immediately becomes a "classic" for the Italian indie scene, and gets voted as on of the best records in the end of the year poll by all music magazines.
The release is followed by a 150 date Italian tour that receives the prize of "2004 Best Tour" at MEI.
Between 2006 and 2007 is busy playing live and producing/performing in the record Cime Domestiche (RadioFandango): a very succesful reworking of folk songs of the Trentino area with the company of Petra Magoni e Ares Tavolazzi.
In october 2007 Paolo Benvegnù releases the 14-19 EP on his own brand-new record label La Pioggia Dischi, the record is incredibly well received and creates great expectations for his new album Le Labbra, released in february 2008.
Le Labbra (trad: The lips) deals with love in such a deep, gut-twisting honesty and passion, that was never put on a record in such a way before.
It is welcomed as one of the best Italian record in years and shortly followed by a long and very successful tour that touched with incendiary shows the best Italian venues and festivals like Arezzo Wave, Ypsig Rock (with dEUS), V-Day, and MIAMI.
