Atleticodefina: bio & videos!

Hello PanoPeople!

After Massimo Volume, let us present you Atleticodefina,
opening act of Panoplie Italian Nights III.

Atleticodefina is the band of Pasquale Defina, who first got known for his collaboration with important artists such as Cristina Donà, Manuel Agnelli (Afterhours) and Emidio Clementi (Massimo Volume), Steve Piccolo, Sainkho Namtchylack...

After the experience with Volwo, giving birth to the cd Viva Vittoria (2002), he creates Atleticodefina in 2005, publishing the same year the eponymous debut album.

The second cd, Tutti amano tutti, was released in April 2007. The line-up included Giorgio Prette (Afterhours' drummer) and Saturnino (one the the best Italian bass players, having played with Jovanotti for a long time), and amongst the guests we can find Cesare Basile, Massimo Martellotta (Calibro 35), Syria... It is from these collaborations that the idea behind Tutti Amano Tutti was born, as a "proof of love, friendship, respect". The meeting/clash of musicians having strong personality but different and recognisable style gave birth to a strange musical alchemy.

On November 2007, Atleticodefina had a great show at d:qliq: hereafter a few videos of that night!

On May 7th, 2009, the third album of Atleticodefina has been released: Revolwo.
It has been recorded by Antonio "Cooper" Cupertino @ Officine Meccaniche, the recording studio of Mauro Pagani (founding member of PFM, co-author of Fabrizio De André Creuza de ma and Le Nuvole..).
Artistic producer is Giorgio Canali, founding member of CSI (Consorzio Suonatori Indipendendenti), member of PGR, who is releasing his new cd with Rossofuoco. Giorgio is also an important producer, latest example being Le Luci della Centrale Elettrica, last year's sensation of Italian indie.
With Daniele Raggi (electric guitar), Riccardo Marinelli (drums), Andrea Samonà (bass guitar) and Giorgio Canali (e-bow), Pasquale De Fina (vocals, electric and acoustic guitars) has decided to record an album starting back from Volwo, his first project.
Saturnino (also known for his collaboration with Lorenzo Jovanotti) on bass guitar on 3 songs, Tribalex (Ritmo Tribale) on drums and Roberto Romano (Volwo) on sax on one, Luca Bresciani on fender rhodes on another: like Tutti Amano Tutti, the cd is rich of guests and collaborations.

Revolwo has already attracted the interest of Italian press, and has been presented live in Italy throughout the month of May.

Then, Pasquale De Fina and his band will reach Luxembourg on June, to open Panoplie Italian Nights III @ d:qliq, on Friday 12th, sharing the stage with long-time friend and musical partner Mimì Clementi.
And, be ready.. Pas & Mimì could give us a surprise or two, that night..

Cya There!!
Panoplie Team
