Sonic Visions: Beatrice Antolini

Hello PanoPeople!!

Let's start presenting the Italian artists of Sonic Visions from
Beatrice Antolini.

Born in Macerata in 1982, she started playing piano at the age of 3 and studied at the conservatory.
She started writing songs, with English lyrics, and ended up signing with indie label Urtovox in 2004.

Her debut album, Big Saloon, was published in 2006 and earned her a big interest both from critics and public.
She started touring intensively, also collaborating with artists such as Jennifer Gentle, Baustelle and Bugo.
Her second cd, A due, has been released at the end of 2008, confirming her as one of the "next big things" of Italian indie.

To explain what does she sound like, we can say that se has more than one thing in common with Fiona Apple.
Besides the same passion for the piano, she is also kind of a crazy genius when it comes to song writing.
Furthermore, she leaves a similar mark as an inventive, not a trivial artist.

She could definitely be this year’s big surprise at the Sonic Visions Festival!

To let you judge by yourself, here you have two videos.

First, the official clip for Funky Show, first single from A due:

Then, to see what her live shows loos like, A new room for a quiet life, recorded at Villa Scarfantoni nel 2008, at the beginning of the A due tour:
